From the field

We climbed for what felt like forever. Rain the night before had turned the trail to a swamp tilted on a slope, and it took four hours of slipping and hauling ourselves upward before we reached them. At the top we found a single silverback and his family, and this mother sitting a little apart, her baby rolling and tumbling beside her while she watched the rest of the group.
